Surf’s Up!

Unwritten history - What did Christ mutter upon being struck in the head by a stone after he preached the sermon “…let him who has not sinned cast the first stone”? OW, Dad, that’s not funny!

The latest financial fiasco was not an economic collapse, but a prolapse of priorities. It’s just morass

Our priorities are askew (a priori & a posteriori). Common denominators ought to have common distinctions. But we (you & I) learn the hard way - or remain wet behind the ears. The sum of our existence cannot be summed up by equations. Equation’s are nominal - experience is phenomenal. And these are moot points based on academic notions (didactics and pedantics anyone…).

Let’s get real. We as a society suffer more from arrested development than from financial woes. And our emotional development is vastly in arrears (just morass…). When I taught psychosomatics*, I used different analogies to demonstrate this condition (FIT: Functionally Integrated Telesis). I said that our emotional state was akin to a pool of water. Some people had small pools - some people had large pools. If I took a 5-pound stone and threw it into a 1-gallon pool and a 10-gallon pool respectively, you can imagine the varying consequences of the impact. Now imagine that same 5-pound stone cast into a 1000-gallon and 10,000-gallon pool of water respectively. Then one bright student said: “What if you got struck by a meteor?”. And without thought, I leapt onto my imaginary board and said, ‘Surf’s Up!’. Class dismissed…

To sink or swim is vanity - to surf is virtuous (fight, flight or fiat**!) - Pa.

*Relating to or concerned with the influence of the mind on the body, and the body on the mind.

**Latin: let it be done; an order or decree of authority; sanction.
