Sisyphus II

I know it sounds crazy
But I’m of very sound mind,
I’m twain justice and mercy
And faced with this fleshly rind.
(Fruite: Take-2 and call me in the mourning)

People think death is violent - especially if it’s a fight to the death. But I say the body wants to struggle against it’s dismissal - it’s imminent collapse and subsequent decomposition. And I don’t think animals suffer as much as we’d like to think in the throes of death - that’s our fear.

I’ve had NDE’s (still, I like to refer to them as NL/DE’s: Near Life/Death Experiences). It’s a transition whose template is reserved for special occasions…

When animals fight to the death, I do not believe there is any present fear, or pain. In my own situation, there was a focus on the present moment so completely absorbing that I knew nothing else existed - no pain, no panic, no other possibility than the immediate struggle to survive and succeed. It’s quite euphoric actually.

They’ve studied men condemned to die by hanging, and found that many of these men actually ejaculated in the process of strangling to death. Anoxia perhaps, with an instinctual secretion of reproductive mechanisms attempting to survive?

I’ve been there - several times. I’ve pushed (okay, punished), my body to the point of anoxia - this in trying to find a physical portal into the spiritual world by which to remedy excruciating emotional/psychological pains. I was pleasantly surprised… and saddened. The body however strong is but a shadow of the spirit’s strength.

Children often mistake their parent’s copulation as violent. I’m suggesting the same mistake is made to think of natural death as violent - it is a struggle to survive and succeed. If we approach death without integrity, then surely, we forfeit our inherent rights to these physical-panaceas. But they exist, and in these extraordinary circumstances - they persist.

There are no natural calamities - only unnatural circumstances.
