More & Less

I recently read a report that said CEO’s made more money in 2007. More than most of us is obvious - more than they did the year before is ludicrous. Shareholders and workers on the other hand, saw a “darkened and choked economy”. CEO’s saw an average increase of 280K - that’s more than most of us make in a year. And that would be fine if those same CEO’s were steering their respective companies to success. I don’t necessarily say higher earnings because that is often at the expense of employee layoffs and quality assurance.
So while the average working stiff can’t afford health insurance, food or gasoline, CEO’s are ReAPING record profits. So I ask again: whatever happened to the captain going down with the ship? These captain’s of industry are impostors - their portfolios read like the guest register at a funeral… leaving a sullen procession to try and make a living in their wake.
Don’t think America can’t be sunk - we’ve seen that the wrong person at the helm can sink the unsinkable. We need to move to an integrity based social order rather than an image based society sooner than later - or it’s more or less going to be too late.
Working stiffs have the life sucked out of them by needy corporate parasites.
Profits ought to pollinate an economy - not sting it’s keepers.
Seeing red ought to warn us… of feigned black outs and golden parachutes.
