America is a beautiful country, founded by brilliant people. We weren’t the first ones here on the continent - but we were the most ambitious to own, rather than live on borrowed land. We’ve come a long way since then, and we’ve committed some rather egregious blunders due to our gangly powers as a growing nation. Other nations are committing similar blunders now…when will we learn.

Pollution is threatening the planet now - not just the people. People suffering from illnesses reach a pivotal-point from which they cannot recover…so too the Earth. This time around, the tipping point may be as literal as it is figurative. Al Gore, who recently won a Nobel prize for his work surrounding planetary issues, has done a stand-up job of being a world leader. And many other leaders of global concerns are coming to the fore before planetary life is naught but yore.

The Core is a movie that came out in 2003, and was an action packed drama dealing with the possibility of the Earth’s core stopping, literally, from spinning. Scientists agree that this phenomenon has occured before - many times! Nobody knows the ramifications of such an unprecedented (in modern times) event. Scientists also agree that the Earth has tipped before - literally switching poles. I remember being at 10,000+ feet in the Sandia Mountains in NM and finding fossilized sea critters embedded in the rocks (and I don’t believe they flew up there!). We understand the Earth about as well as we understand the human heart - there are some painful lessons to be learned…

Michael Knight has done some research on all the above topics and has a site devoted to keeping people informed about these matters called: Earth Change Report. Some people are preparing for the future…whatever it may hold in store. And just because it’s in store - doesn’t mean you have to buy it! But you’d be well advised to stay apprised…

We are entitled to many things here on Earth. Life, liberty, love and the legacy of our trials and tribulations to be tools of learning for our children. Plato spoke about the Sun rising in the West as the greatest of Earth changes - when the North becomes the South. Where did he get his information? What happened to Atlantis? Many things past go unanswered into the future. And sometimes we need an experience of pivotal proportions to open the door to new understanding and profound appreciation. Wisdom is costly…thus it pays to heed the wise.

We had little tolerance for borrowed land - what will we do now with borrowed time…we own now (which is an anagram - just like Earth and Heart)!
